The woods around Bear Falls, Oregon hold more than trees: there is a woman, a witch, trapped within, pulsing with a despair that can leach into anyone struggling and draw them in. Carden wants to run from the dark thoughts that plague him surrounding the woman he loves disappearance but when a job places him in the heart of the woods where he discovers a woman lost in her past he learns that not everything is what it seems. Carden must face the darkest parts of his mind to release himself and those he loves from the woods grasp.

Ever since the Innomentium moved into their town -- Knotting -- and Cypress began working with them to destroy a legacy Ember's family has worked hard to share with the world. The Innomentium have destroyed more than books and idols -- they have spent the last decade killing every known God of their world. Or so Ember thought. When the leader of the Innomentium arrives in Knotting looking for something, Ember must do something she swore she never would: go into the woods that have claimed most of her family.
